HERD has already experienced the advantages of laser welding, achieving a reduction of up to 80% in the consumption of welding wire that was previously utilized. This method has also eliminated the need for upright grinding, enabling products to be finalized through a swift sanding process, thereby speeding up the upstream production process by as much as 55%. Although the ultimate goal is to integrate laser welding into all of HERD’s products, the primary emphasis has been on the Truck Guard line. In this line, the welding duration for the distinctive Aero guard has decreased from approximately 60 minutes to as little as 40 minutes.
